They Promised Support for the "Zero Waste Blue" Project from the Munzur River!

A support for the "Zero Waste Blue" project, initiated to keep and protect the seas and water resources clean, also came from Tunceli.

Support for the "Zero Waste Blue" project, the new phase of the "Zero Waste" initiative launched by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's wife, Emine Erdoğan, is growing.

In this context, Governor Tuncay Sonel, World Rafting President Danilo Barmaz, Turkey Rafting President Fikret Yardımcı, Environment and Urbanization Provincial Director Önder Yurdakul, and athletes and nature lovers from around the world participating in the World Rafting Championship gathered at Munzur River. They raised banners and collected trash along the riverbank.

The event sent a message to the world for clean water from Munzur River. Participants in the World Rafting Championship pledged their support for the "Zero Waste Blue" project.

During the event, Governor Tuncay Sonel emphasized the importance of leaving Munzur River clean for future generations, stating:

"We, too, in Tunceli, are supporting this project together with our guests from around the world; from Brazil to India, Costa Rica to Italy, from China to France, and from Iran to Bulgaria. We promise to preserve the cleanliness of our rivers and seas and to leave this natural beauty for future generations."

World Rafting Federation President Danilo Barmaz expressed that they always support such projects as a rafting federation and that the launched project made them happy. Barmaz stated, “I am very happy to be here. This effort should not only be for cleaning our rivers and rafting but should always be present. Rivers are vital for rafting and many other sports. When a government initiates such a project, we, as the World Rafting Federation and the Turkey Rafting Federation, fully support it. It is a project that makes us happy. We are completely behind the project.”

Athletes and nature lovers from all over the world first raised banners to show their support and then collected trash along the Munzur Riverbank.
