Meeting Between Emine Erdoğan and UN-Habitat Executive Director Rossbach

Following the third official meeting of the UN Zero Waste Advisory Board, which she chaired, Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, met with UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaclaudia Rossbach at the Presidential Dolmabahçe Office.

After the meeting, Rossbach signed the Global Zero Waste Goodwill Declaration, which was opened for global endorsement at the 78th UN General Assembly in 2023, with President Erdoğan being the first signatory.

 

"The Zero Waste Goal Is the Cornerstone of Global Collaboration"

Commenting on the meeting through her social media account, Emine Erdoğan said:
"We had the pleasure of meeting Anaclaudia Rossbach, who recently assumed the role of Executive Director of UN-Habitat. We discussed the activities of our Advisory Board and explored areas of collaboration. We exchanged views on the importance of the Zero Waste movement in achieving sustainable development goals. On this occasion, I would like to thank Ms. Rossbach for signing the Global Zero Waste Goodwill Declaration, a shared call to action for shaping a cleaner future. The zero waste goal is not only built on individual efforts but also serves as the cornerstone of global collaboration."

Emine Erdoğan expressed her gratitude to Rossbach for her support during the signing.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change Murat Kurum, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, and Zero Waste Foundation Chairman Samed Ağırbaş.
