In Bodrum, Protocol Members Cleaned the Environment with Inmates

In the Bodrum district of Muğla, inmates participated in an environmental cleanup with the involvement of district protocol members.

As part of the protocol titled “Together for a Clean Future,” signed between the Bodrum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and Bodrum Municipality, an environmental cleanup was conducted in the Gümbet Değirmenler area. Bodrum Governor Bekir Yılmaz, Garrison Commander Colonel İzzet Adagideli, Deputy Mayor Ummahan Yurt, Chief Public Prosecutor Şükrü Arslan, Supervising Prosecutor Hasan Boran Bozdoğan, District National Education Director Aslan Korkmaz, District Police Chief Cüneyt Yörükoğlu, Bodrum Supervisory Service Director Ruhşen Doğan, AK Party District Chairman Ömer Özmen, Bodrum Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chamber President Erdoğan Başeymez, and several department heads participated in the cleanup while wearing gloves.

Following the coastal cleanup, Bodrum Governor Bekir Yılmaz stated that the project is significant for helping inmates work on beneficial community projects. He also emphasized the importance of a project prepared by Bodrum Municipality for the maintenance and repair of the iconic windmills of Bodrum, which has been submitted to the Conservation Council.

Bodrum Chief Public Prosecutor Şükrü Arslan noted the strong participation in the project and thanked everyone involved. Deputy Mayor Ummahan Yurt remarked, "It’s unfortunate that the collected waste is human-generated, as we are polluting the environment with our own hands. We continue our efforts to keep Bodrum clean with the inmates. This activity is also important for their adaptation to social life. At the same time, we aim to raise awareness about environmental issues and pollution."

Additionally, it is noteworthy that approximately 1 ton of waste materials were collected from the area, where environmental cleanups were conducted for the second time in August.
