Emine Erdoğan, wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visited the "Tarım Kredi Zero Market" located in the Beytepe neighborhood of Çankaya district in Ankara, a market that promotes zero-waste shopping.

Emine Erdoğan, during her visit to the "Tarım Kredi Zero Market," which promotes zero-waste shopping in the Beytepe neighborhood of Çankaya, Ankara, was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, General Manager of Turkey Agricultural Credit Cooperatives Hüseyin Aydın, and General Manager of Tarım Kredi Markets Orhan Kozan.

She explored the market, where she learned about the recycling kiosk and visited the sections where customers can purchase products like detergent, legumes, dried fruits, milk, and oils in their desired quantities using their own or purchased containers. Emine Erdoğan closely examined the refill stations for laundry and dishwashing detergents, as well as liquid soap, which aim to reduce single-use packaging. She also looked at the "mist system," which keeps fruits and vegetables fresh by using drip irrigation and reduces waste, contributing positively to nature.

In the section dedicated to products from women’s cooperatives, she expressed admiration for the goods produced with contributions from women across various regions of Anatolia. She showed particular interest in the products grown from heritage seeds.

The market completely eliminates the use of plastic bags and applies alternative solutions in checkout and other areas. Recycling kiosks help collect glass, metal, and plastic packaging for recycling. Additionally, electronic shelf labels and SMS-based receipts are used to reduce paper waste and save energy.

Emine Erdoğan, appreciating the market's eco-friendly approach, took souvenir photos with employees and customers.

In her social media post about the visit, Emine Erdoğan stated:

"I examined the recycling kiosk and refill stations and learned about the products grown from heritage seeds and produced by our women’s cooperatives. I truly believe that the effort to make the Zero Waste philosophy a part of daily life will gain even more meaning with the support of every environmentalist. I wish for this project, which has been implemented with consideration for both today and the future, to spread across the country and thank those who contributed."
