Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, hosted women guests from the business, arts, politics, media, academia, and sports worlds at the Presidential Complex as part of the events celebrating "International Women's Day" on March 8.

Speaking at an event held under the theme of the "Zero Waste" project, which promotes environmental awareness, Emine Erdoğan stated that the fundamental issue in almost every topic, especially women's issues, is a matter of humanity. She emphasized that all crises experienced in the 21st century are crises rooted in morality, highlighting that each crisis, from the mistreatment of women to the disrespect towards nature, results from a moral weakness.

Emine Erdoğan pointed out that the fundamental cause of environmental problems is human selfishness and ambition, warning that if there is no shift from a "self-centered" understanding to a "human-centered" approach, it will be too late.

She mentioned that they initiated the "Zero Waste" campaign in coordination with the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change as a small step towards more efficient resource usage and reducing waste through recycling.

Emine Erdoğan invited women to unite in support of environmental issues and the project, saying, "As role model women whom society looks up to, every support you provide to the 'Zero Waste' mobilization will enhance the campaign's success."
